Velvet Rope exists to make the British online casino landscape more readable, and to do so without raising its voice. We do not operate games or hold customer funds; we publish a register of regulated operators, and we explain — at length, where it matters — what stands behind each ranking.

What we do

We publish reviews, league tables and short essays on UK-licensed casinos with a deliberate focus on the post-signup experience: cashier reliability, payment methods, support quality, mobile performance, terms readability, the live casino product, and the safer-gambling controls each operator chooses to surface. The market changes — the same brand can move between editions, and we account for that.

How we work

Each entry is checked against the public Gambling Commission register, then reviewed by an editor against criteria published openly on the home page. We rely on the operator's own published terms and on what the cashier journey actually does in practice. We try not to lean on a single signal: a strong promotion does not lift a poor cashier — and the converse is rare.

Where the money comes from

The site is supported by referral arrangements with selected operators we cover.
